On 21 July 2025, GC Central Asia, with support of the OSCE Academy, and the Right Livelihood Foundation, organized a vibrant workshop dedicated to Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) — the right to rest, play, cultural life, and the arts. Held at the Orion Hotel in Bishkek, the event created a safe and inspiring space for children to express themselves and learn about their rights.

The distinguished guests were welcomed by Dr. Pal Dunay, Director of the OSCE Academy, and Ms. Victoria Orazova, Head of the International Department.

On 10 July 2025, the OSCE Academy in Bishkek hosted an online public lecture by Ms. Nurgul Akimova, economist and expert in digital transformation. Her topic was "The Digital Som as a Strategic Tool for Financial Inclusion and Transparency in the Kyrgyz Republic." Students, researchers, and policy professionals gathered to discuss the opportunities and challenges of adopting a national digital currency in Kyrgyzstan.

On 9 July 2025, Dr. Pal Dunay, the Director, and Dr. Shairbek Dzhuraev, the Deputy Director of the OSCE Academy, presented at the Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting which was held in hybrid mode. The BoT meeting presided by H.E. Ambassador Alexey Rogov, Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek and Chairman of the BoT of the OSCE Academy, was opened by Ms. Kate Fearon, Director of the Conflict Prevention Centre of the OSCE Secretariat, and Ms. Edith Vakkilainen, Advisor to the Permanent Mission of Finland to the OSCE.

On 27 June 2025, the OSCE Academy held a roundable on the topic: “Advancing Regional Climate Policy in Central Asia: Lessons from the EU and Future Perspectives.” The conference was also the concluding meeting of the Jean Monnet Module Project on European Climate Policy (EUCP) coordinated by Dr. Rahat Sabyrbekov. The meeting was opened by Dr. Pal Dunay, Director of the OSCE Academy who emphasized the interdisciplinary importance of addressing climate matters, and the need of cooperation between governments, economic actors, NGO sector, including activists, and scholars. In addition to national attention, climate policy issues have to be on the regional agenda.

From 16 to 19 June 2025, the OSCE Academy hosted a 3.5-day workshop focused on Transdisciplinary Education and Research (TDER) for Sustainable Development. This workshop was collaboratively organized with the Intersectoral School of Governance Baden-Württemberg (ISoG BW) and the SPCE Hub, bringing together lecturers, researchers, and experts from Central Asia and Europe. On 19 June 2025, Dr. Shairbek Dzhuraev, Deputy Director of the OSCE Academy, took part in the international conference “Of Bridges and Nexuses: Italy–Central Asia Cooperation towards a Sustainable Future,” held at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, Italy. The event was organized by Professor Carlo Frappi, from Ca’ Foscari University, and Professor Filippo Costa Buranelli, from the University of St Andrews, with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI).

From 8 to 13 June 2025, the OSCE Academy alumni and students participated in the summer school “OSCE-DCAF Summer School on SSG/R at the OSCE Academy - Linking SSG/R, Human Security and the Safety of Journalists,” co-organized by the OSCE Secretariat’s Conflict Prevention Centre (CPC) and the Office of the Secretary General (OSG), together with the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media (RFoM), the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek and the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF). This year the School was held in Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan.

On 13 June, Dr. Anja Mihr, MAHRS Academic Director, talked on the role of the OSCE in times of political turmoil, and the progress of the MA Programme in Human Rights and Sustainability (MAHRS) in Central Asia at the OSCE Academy during the 50 Years Anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act 'Spirit of Helsinki' conference in Helsinki, Finland. The conference took place in the Finlandia Hall, where the Helsinki Final Act was signed and the CSCE took its start in 1975.
