  • GC International Student Conference on Just Transition kicks off at the OSCE Academy in Bishkek

    On 17 June 2024, the Global Campus (GC) International Student Conference on Just Transition: Conditions for Change in the Global Order launched at the OSCE Academy in Bishkek. This event marks a revitalised edition of the GC Global Classroom, a flagship research and networking programme for students, hosted this time by GC Central Asia Master's Programme in Human Rights and Sustainability (MAHRS).

  • Alumni/Student Summer School on Women, Girls and Children's Rights in Central Asia

    On 10 June 2024, the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, with support of the Global Campus of Human Rights in Venice and Right Livelihood, launched its Alumni/Student Summer School at the picturesque lake Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan, focused on "Women, Girls, and Children's Rights in Central Asia." The Summer School brought together graduates of the Academy’s MA programmes, as well as students of the MA Programme in Human Rights and Sustainability from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan aiming to expand their expertise in human rights.

  • Public Lecture on Active Labour Market Policies in the Kyrgyz Republic

    On June 4, 2024, the OSCE Academy hosted a public lecture on "Active Labour Market Policies in the Kyrgyz Republic: Addressing Employment Barriers for a More Inclusive Labour Market?" The lecture was delivered by Eugenia Pesci, an Associate Research Fellow at the OSCE Academy and a Doctoral Researcher at the Aleksanteri Institute, University of Helsinki.

  • Prof. Dr. Sebastian Mayer speaks at INTPOLSEC Congress in Turkey

    From 30 to 31 May, Prof. Dr. Sebastian Mayer, DAAD Associate Professor at the OSCE Academy, participated in the 3rd Annual International Congress of the International Politics & Security Association (INTPOLSEC). This year, the Congress was hosted by Necmettin Erbakan University in Konya, Turkey. The Congress was sponsored, among other things, by the Turkish Development Agency (TIKA).

    On 23 May 2024, Dr. Kate Walker, the OSCE Academy Director, addressed the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna within the Annual Report presentation by H.E. Ambassador Alexey Rogov, Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek and Chairperson of the OSCE Academy Board of Trustees.

    On 25 April 2024, within the framework of the first mobility Dr. Satarkulova has met with the students and faculty of the Marmara University and delivered a presentation about the OSCE Academy, its programmatic and research activities as well as about the education system in Kyrgyzstan in general.

  • OSCE Academy hosts OSCE-organized Young Women 4 Peace Initiative for Central Asia

    On 16-19 April 2024, the OSCE Academy hosted training sessions within the Young Women for Peace Initiative for Central Asia, a two-year OSCE programme designed to empower young women in Central Asia and enhance their involvement in peace and security processes. The programme is organized by the OSCE Gender Issues Programme with the financial support of the European Union.

    On 16 April 2024, the Director of the OSCE Academy Dr. Kate Walker, and the Director of the State Agency of Intellectual Property and Innovation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzpatent) Rakhat Kerimbaeva signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
