From 14 to 17 November 2025, the OSCE Secretariat, in cooperation with the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, organized an in-person training seminar for 26 young experts from Central Asia, South-East Europe, and the Mediterranean Partners for Cooperation regions. The activity was also supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in the Kyrgyz Republic. The training focused on inclusive project activities and digital research skills.

Siroco Messerli, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Andres Müller, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Switzerland in Kyrgyzstan, and Mr. Renaud Vuignier, Head of Domain at the Embassy of Switzerland in Kyrgyzstan.

On 4 November 2025, the OSCE Academy in Bishkek welcomed Mr Santeri Leinonen, Special Representative on Youth, Peace and Security of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office (CiO), and Ms Marjo Kaller, First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Finland to the OSCE. The delegation was accompanied by Ms Guljamal Tokombaeva, National Programme Officer at the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek (POiB).

On 3 and 4 November 2025, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), in partnership with the research institute of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik (DGAP) and the OSCE Academy, co-organized a two-day policy dialogue titled “Gender and Youth in Water & Energy: Building Inclusive Futures for Central Asia.” The event gathered representatives from various international institutions, research, the development and non-governmental sector to explore the themes of gender equality and youth engagement in the governance of water and energy resources in Central Asia.

From 27 to 31 October 2025, the Global Campus of Human Rights organized its annual Global Classroom event in Bangkok, Thailand, with a focus on the themes of Business, the Environment, and Human Rights. The event was hosted by the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies (IHRP) at Mahidol University, a regional coordinator for the Asia-Pacific region of the Global Campus network.

On 27 October 2025, the OSCE Academy in Bishkek hosted the launch of Dr. Kuat Akizhanov’s book, Political Economy of Kazakhstan: From Neoliberal Dogma to Social Catastrophe. The event brought together MA students, faculty, and external participants. The event was opened by Dr. Shairbek Dzhuraev, Deputy Director of the OSCE Academy, who also moderated the subsequent discussion of the book's themes. Dr. Akizhanov briefly introduced the book, and the floor was opened for discussion.

On 27 October 2025, the OSCE Academy in Bishkek hosted an interactive lecture and discussion on “International Law Through Film” by Dr. Stefan Ziegler, Faculty Member at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights and an Associate Professor at the Geneva School of Diplomacy. He is also a documentary filmmaker focusing on International Humanitarian Law.

Between the 20 and the 24 October 2025, the Director and the Deputy Director of the OSCE Academy, Dr. Pal Dunay and Dr. Shairbek Dzhuraev stayed in Vienna. The Academy reported to the OSCE Permanent Council (PC) on the 23 October, and to the Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting on the 24 October. During the visit they met several OSCE delegations, in most cases accompanying the Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek (POiB), Ambassador Dr. Volker Frobarth, who was unanimously elected as Chairman of the Board of the Trustees of the OSCE Academy at the BoT meeting.

On 24 October 2025, the OSCE Academy in Bishkek hosted an interactive session titled “Building a Career in International Peace and Security: Lessons from the UN and Beyond” with Dr. Jomart Ormonbekov, Political Affairs Officer at the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA) in New York. MA students participated in the discussion, where Dr. Ormonbekov shared his extensive professional experience in diplomacy, preventive diplomacy, and multilateral cooperation.

On 23 October 2025, Mr. Stefan Mayer, a member of the German Bundestag’s Foreign Affairs Committee and the CDU/CSU parliamentary group’s rapporteur for Central Asian countries, along with Mr. Constantin Zelenty, Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, visited the OSCE Academy in Bishkek.
