On 18 September 2024 the OSCE Academy had the honour to welcome H. E. Ambassador Thomas Greminger, Chairman of the Board of the PeaceNexus Foundation and Executive Director of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), accompanied by Mr. Kanatbek Abdiev, Programme Officer for Central Asia. The distinguished guests were welcomed by Dr. Pal Dunay, Interim Director of the OSCE Academy, and the Academy’s staff members and lecturers.

On 16 September 2024 the Board of Trustees of the OSCE Academy had its extraordinary meeting, presided by Ambassador Alexey Rogov, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and the Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek, held online. Dr. Pal Dunay, Interim Director of the OSCE Academy, has informed the members of the Board about the current activities of the Academy, the challenges it faces and further plans.

On 13 September 2024 Dr. Indira Satarkulova, Deputy Director of the OSCE Academy, spoke as a panelist at the event titled "Navigating Arbitration: Proceedings and Career Prospects”, a unique platform to discuss different aspects of arbitration proceedings and career paths in international arbitration in support of youth – particularly students who are planning their future careers.

On 5-6 September 2024, Dr. Burulcha Sulaimanova, Senior Lecturer at the OSCE Academy, presented at the Regional Conference of Youth in Central Asia 2024, which was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. During her presentation, Dr. Sulaimanova shared insights on how climate change is impacting children and youth in Central Asia, with a particular focus on its effects on girls.

On 13 September 2024 the OSCE Academy junior BA Economics students took part in the Design Thinking for Social Entrepreneurship workshop at the American University of Central Asia (AUCA), led by Professor Elena Chigibaeva. Prior to the workshop the OSCE Academy students had a tour in the Maker Space of AUCA and observed 3D designing and modelling technology. Following that students had a workshop at which they explored the ways Design Thinking drives innovation for solving pressing social issues.

Between 9 and 13 September 2024, the OSCE Academy representatives visit the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA) in Romania within the framework of the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility programme. SNSPA is one of the first partner institutions within the Erasmus+ programme, actively implementing students and staff exchange since 2020.

On 5-6 September 2024 six OSCE Academy BA students in Economics participated in the Central Asian and Afghan Regional Conference of Youth and Children on Climate Change (RCOY 2024) in Bishkek Kyrgyzstan. The conference focused on empowering youth and children from the region to lead climate action through education, collaboration, and innovation, emphasizing the critical role of young people in addressing water and climate challenges while fostering unity and resilience.

On 2 September 2024, the OSCE Academy organized its Orientation Day for newly admitted graduate and undergraduate students. The incoming classes are comprised of 71 students representing five countries of Central Asia, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Denmark, Mongolia, Russia, and the UK. In his welcome speech, Dr. Pal Dunay, Interim Director of the OSCE Academy, gave an overview of the Academy's recent developments, current programmes, and activities. He encouraged the students to regard the Academy as a platform where they can maximize their knowledge development through active engagement with fellow course-mates, colleagues working and teaching at the Academy, guest speakers and visitors.

On 27-28 August 2024 Dr. Indira Satarkulova, Deputy Director of the OSCE Academy, participated in the The Eighth CAREC Think Tank Development Forum on "Climate Challenge: Thinking Beyond Borders for Collective Action," held in Almaty, Kazakhstan. This event was co-organized by the Eurasian Development Bank together with the CAREC Institute and the Asia Development Bank and other partners to further support the scoping study of CAREC Program "Regional Action on Climate Change: A Vision for CAREC in 2050."

On 27 August 2024 the OSCE Academy held a closing ceremony of its Summer School at Issyk-Kul. A total of 67 students from five Central Asian states, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Denmark, Mongolia, and Russia, including newly admitted MA students in the Politics and Security and Economic Governance and Development Programmes, took part in this month-long preparatory course.
