On 24 April 2026, the OSCE Academy had the pleasure of hosting Colonel Dr. Sandro Henschel, Liaison Officer of the Federal Ministry of Defence at the Center for International Peace Operations (ZiF), together with H.E. Amb. Dr. Volker Frobarth, Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek (POiB), and Mr. Colin McCullough, Senior Planning and Coordination Officer at the POiB.
The guests were received by Dr. Pal Dunay, Director of the OSCE Academy, Dr. Emilbek Dzhuraev, Senior Lecturer in the Politics and Security Programme (MAPS), Dr. Sebastian Mayer, DAAD Associate Professor and Ms. Victoria Orazova, Head of the International Department.
The visit opened with an overview of the OSCE Academy delivered by Dr. Pal Dunay, who presented the institution’s main academic priorities, ongoing research initiatives, and recent institutional developments. The great significance of the contribution of Germany to the OSCE Academy, including three German directors from among seven in the history of the institution, four DAAD associate professors who have been essential for the high quality of teaching, and other contributions were recognized.
The further discussion focused on opportunities for future cooperation between ZiF and the OSCE Academy, including possible formats for student internships at ZiF, as well as the broader prospects for academic exchange and collaboration.
