OSCE Academy MA Students Visit EU Delegation for Discussion on EU Regional Cooperation

On 2 April 2026, students of the MA in Politics and Security Programme (MAPS) at the OSCE Academy in Bishkek visited the Delegation of the European Union to the Kyrgyz Republic as part of their academic training.

The visit was organized within the framework of a course led by Dr. Clara Portela, Professor at the University of Valencia. During the visit, students were welcomed by H.E. Amb. Rémi Duflot, Ambassador of the European Union to the Kyrgyz Republic, and his team. Amb. Duflot delivered an interactive and informative session on the European Union’s engagement in the Kyrgyz Republic and its broader policy priorities in Central Asia. The discussion focused on the EU’s regional cooperation, strategic priorities, and approaches to development and partnership in the region.

The session provided students with an opportunity to directly engage with practitioners involved in EU policy implementation, offering practical insights into diplomatic work and international cooperation. The interactive format encouraged active discussion and deepened students’ understanding of the EU’s role in Central Asia.
