On 9, 16, and 17 September 2026, the OSCE Academy hosted a practical workshop titled “Exploring PhD Opportunities in the EU: From Application to Academic Life.” The sessions were led by Prof. Lukasz Gruszczynski of Kozminski University, Poland, as part of an Erasmus+ staff visit.
The workshop guided students through the main stages of pursuing a doctoral degree in the social sciences in Europe. Participants learned about PhD programmes and funding opportunities, including DAAD, Euraxess, CEU, and EUI, as well as developing a strong research proposal, contacting potential supervisors, securing recommendations, and preparing application documents.

The sessions also addressed academic life beyond admission, covering workload management, procrastination, mental health and impostor syndrome, publishing in indexed journals, navigating peer review, applying for research grants, building academic visibility, and pursuing postdoctoral and permanent academic positions.
