On 30 September, BA students from the class of 2024-2028 visited the SheStarts Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting and developing women’s entrepreneurship in Kyrgyzstan. The visit was organized by Ms. Elena Chigibaeva as part of the Social Entrepreneurship course. During the visit, the students met the SheStarts team and learned more about the Foundation’s work, key areas of activity, and ongoing projects. The team shared how SheStarts supports women who want to start or develop their own businesses, including social enterprises, by providing training, mentorship, access to useful resources, and opportunities for further growth. The students were also introduced to MicroMentor, and learned about opportunities for internships, volunteering, professional development, and participation in future initiatives. The Foundation’s director shared insights into SheStarts’ activities and emphasized the importance of being proactive, taking initiative, and making use of available opportunities. Students had the chance to ask questions and gain practical insights into entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship. The visit was both engaging and informative, giving students a better understanding of how organizations such as SheStarts can support entrepreneurs and create opportunities for positive social and economic change.
