Biography

Biography

Dr. Akram Khalilov is an Assistant Professor in Financial Accounting at BI Norwegian Business School (Oslo, Norway). He joined BI in September 2020.

He holds a PhD in Business and Finance from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain), where he also completed his MSc in Business and Quantitative Methods. During his doctoral studies, he was a visiting scholar at Humboldt University of Berlin.

Dr. Khalilov has also been a Visiting Researcher at the Stockholm School of Economics. He obtained his BA in Economics from the American University of Central Asia (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan).

His research focuses on financial reporting and corporate behavior, with particular emphasis on earnings quality, corporate disclosures, and the political economy of accounting. His recent work also explores corporate social responsibility (CSR) and firms’ responses to external shocks and regulatory environments.
