OSCE Academy and Ibn Haldun University formalize Partnership

On 15 June 2022, the OSCE Academy in Bishkek and Ibn Haldun University in Istanbul officially formalized the cooperation between the two institutions. The OSCE Academy delegation - Dr. Alexander Wolters, Director, Dr. Indira Satarkulova, Deputy Director, and Victoria Orazova, Head of International Office, met the delegation from Ibn Haldun University – Prof. Atilla Arkan, President, Prof. Yaşar Sarı, Director of Haydar Aliyev Center for Eurasian Studies, and Enes Yalman, Director of International Office, at the premises of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University.

Public Lecture on Transitional Justice Approach to Foreign Terrorist Fighters

On 14 June 2022, Ms. Cholpon Orozobekova, Director of the Bulan Institute for Peace and Innovations and an Associate Research Fellow at the OSCE Academy, delivered a public lecture on "A Transitional Justice Approach to Foreign Terrorist Fighters: Challenges and Limits of Prosecuting former ISIS Fighters and their Associates."

On 10 June 2022, Dr. Alexander Wolters, Director, OSCE Academy in Bishkek, Ms. Eni Gjergji, Project Manager, Economic Advisor, OCEEA/ EGU, OSCE, and Ms. Oksana Kim, National Project Manager, OSCE Academy in Bishkek, met with Dr. Beishenaliev Almazbek Beishenalievich, Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ms. Aizada Apysheva, Head of Department of International Cooperation and Interaction with Partners, Mr. Kanybekov Ernar, Chief Specialist of the Corruption Prevention Sector, Ms. Gulshan Abdyldaeva, Chief Specialist at the Department of School, and Ms. Ainura Asan Kyzy, Chief Specialist at the Department of Higher and Secondary Vocational Education.

Students learn Recruitment Tips from Director for Human Resources at OSCE

On 10 June 2022, Paolo Bernasconi, the Director for Human Resources at the OSCE in Vienna, visited the OSCE Academy and delivered a presentation to MA students of the OSCE Academy in Bishkek on the Recruitment Process in International Organizations.

Students from Northeastern University in the US visit the OSCE Academy

On 7 June 2022, a group of students from Northeastern University, USA, visited the OSCE Academy as part of their trip to Central Asia. Dr. Indira Satarkulova, Deputy Director of the OSCE Academy, welcomed the students and introduced them to the activities and projects of the OSCE Academy.

Development Policy in Practice Workshop at the OSCE Academy

On 3-5 June 2022, the OSCE Academy hosted a workshop titled "Development Policy in Practice: Major Global Trends and their Relevance for Central Asia," organized for students and graduates of the OSCE Academy and AUCA with work experience in development. The event was initiated and led by David Rinnert, Development Counsellor, British Embassy Bishkek / Regional Deputy Development Director.

Research Methods and Measuring Human Rights in the European Union

On 1-2 June 2022, Anja Mihr, DAAD Associated Professor at the OSCE Academy, who is member of the Scientific Committee of the Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) of the European Union since 2018, co-organized the conference ‘Research Methods to Measure Human Rights Compliance in Europe,’ jointly with the and German Ministry of Justice, in Berlin, Germany.

OSCE Academy and MFA of the Republic of Kazakhstan sign Memorandum on Internships of Graduates

On 1 June 2022, the OSCE Academy has signed a Memorandum with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan allowing its graduates from Kazakhstan to intern at the Ministry within the framework of the “Junior Public Officers” Programme.

Director addresses the OSCE Permanent Council

On 26 May 2022, the OSCE Academy Director Dr. Alexander Wolters addressed the OSCE Permanent Council within the Annual Report presentation of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek delivered by Ambassador Alexey Rogov. Following Ambassador Rogov’s speech, Dr. Wolters presented developments that have taken place at the OSCE Academy since June 2021.
