On 29 April 2022, the OSCE Academy hosted the first Living Lab workshop on Traffic and Active Mobility, jointly co-implemented and co-funded by SPCE Hub and Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Kyrgyzstan. Representatives of civil society, researchers, and academics took part in the event to discuss traffic, active mobility, and urban sustainable development.

On 28 April 25 young professionals and students from 25 OSCE participating States began the five-month “Perspectives 20-30 Online Academy” 2nd Edition. The Office of the OSCE Secretary General, in partnership with the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Regional Office for Cooperation and Peace in Europe strongly supports this initiative.

On 26 April 2022, an international workshop on "How to promote Clean Energy Access in Rural Areas in Central Asia and Beyond?" was held at the OSCE Academy. The event gathered experts from industry, academia, non-governmental organizations, and international organizations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan to discuss important aspects of (off-grid) clean energy access in Central Asia.

On 21 April 2022, the OSCE Academy welcomed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Shigeki Maeda. Dr. Alexander Wolters, Director of the OSCE Academy, introduced into the activities and projects of the Academy and shortly presented plans for the future to expand educational and research programmes.

On 11-12 April 2022, the second needs assessment workshop on “Enhancing Youth Crime and Drug use Prevention through Education on Legality and Awareness Campaigns addressing Threats of organized Crime and Corruption” was held in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. The workshop was organized by the Transnational Threats Department and the Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities, in cooperation with the OSCE Academy in Bishkek.
