Biography

Biography

Almaz Ashirov is a mining and investment professional with extensive experience across Central Asia’s extractive industries and development sector. He has worked on economic policy advisory, economic governance, and mineral resources development initiatives.

He has been involved in the implementation of major donor-funded programmes, including projects supported by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), GIZ, and USAID. His work has focused on policy analysis, stakeholder coordination, and strategic advisory in areas such as economic reform, extractive industries, and public sector development.

Mr. Ashirov has also held positions in the private sector, including roles in investment promotion, project management and investor relations in the mining industry, where he specialized in commodities markets and investment strategies.

He holds an MBA and has pursued studies in environment and sustainability as well as business administration. His academic and professional interests include economic policy, sustainable mineral resources management, and investment analysis in emerging markets.
