On 4 June 2026 the OSCE Academy in Bishkek hosted guest lecturers from the regional project “Trade Facilitation in Central Asia” (TFCA)/Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor (TCTC) Capacity Development Programme, implemented by GIZ, commissioned by the German government and co-financed by the European Union. Its Programme Manager Judith Blank and M&E Advisor Khalil Kadzhiev presented the GIZ overview, Programme’s areas of technical cooperation, ongoing initiatives and its achievements to the MA Economic & Governance Program students. The open discussion has instigated an exchange of ideas, has been student engaging, encouraged feedback and questions from the group. The students were informed about the Programme’s joint activities with ministerial and private sector partners and provided insights on how the GIZ can meaningfully contribute to the economic development by facilitating trade and transport between EU and Central Asian states, creating jobs, enhancing state revenues, and strengthening the quality of the public services.
