On 31 October, a half-day workshop on “Respecting Human Rights in Security-Related Contexts” was organized by the OSCE/ODIHR, with support of the Global Campus Central Asia, for MA students of the OSCE Academy.

Dr. Pal Dunay, Director of the OSCE Academy, and Dr. Anja Mihr, Academic Director of MAHRS Programme, welcomed the participants and the Trainers and underlined the importance of the workshop theme in current global realities.

Ms. Delia Nita, Acting Adviser on Freedom of Religion or Belief, and Ms. Roisin Pillay, International Human Rights Lawyer, delivered interactive sessions on freedom of thought, conscience, and belief. They also discussed with students its relationship with security, as well as the protection of freedom of expression and the circumstances in which restrictions on freedom of speech may be justified.
