The four-week preparatory Summer School Programme is run for 32 students from five Central Asian states, Afghanistan, and Russia. During the opening ceremony, Dr. Pal Dunay, Director of the OSCE Academy, and Mr. John DiPirro, Senior Planning Advisor, OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek, welcomed the participants and shortly introduced the OSCE Academy and the upcoming Summer School. Dr. Dunay also emphasized to students – “Your admission also means that you have been among the best candidates. It is our task to contribute to your further development, and bring the best out of your potential.” Following the welcome remarks, OSCE Academy Professors, Dr. Emil Dzhuraev and Dr. Burulcha Sulaimanova, greeted the participants, provided an overview of the upcoming programme, and shared their experience teaching at the Academy.

This year, some of the participants will benefit from in-depth knowledge about social research skills, will get an introduction to the political science, others will dive into mathematics for economists, academic writing & AI. The offered courses will refresh and complement the student’s knowledge and help to develop necessary skill-set to enter into one of the Academy’s graduate programmes beginning in September 2026.
