On 23 October 2026, the OSCE Academy welcomed Dr. Guido Tintori, Economic Affairs Officer at the Office of the Co-ordinator of Economic and Environmental Activities of the OSCE Secretariat in Vienna. He met with Dr. Pal Dunay, Director of the OSCE Academy, Dr. Sebastian Mayer, DAAD Associate Professor, and Ms. Victoria Orazova, Head of the International Department.
Dr. Tintori brings more than twenty years of experience at the intersection of academic research and policymaking. At the OSCE Secretariat, his portfolios include migration management, labor migration governance and human capital development, with a regional focus on Central Asia and South-Eastern Europe. His research examines the relationship between migration, security and interstate cooperation, including the influence of governance, institutional trust and climate change on human mobility.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on Dr. Tintori’s ongoing projects addressing migration, corruption and climate change. Kyrgyzstan will be the first Central Asian participating State in which the project, based on detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis, will be carried out. It will subsequently extend to two other states in the region with significant cross-border labor mobility. The discussion considered the relevance of these topics to Central Asia and their links to the OSCE’s comprehensive approach to security. The OSCE Academy expressed interest in contributing to the research, hosting a workshop to share the findings with experts, and fostering further exchanges on these issues. The Academy also hopes to welcome Dr. Tintori and his colleagues back to Bishkek to deepen its students’ understanding of these topics.
