Lukasz Gruszczynski is a Professor at Kozminski University (Poland), where he serves as
Head of the Department of International and EU Law, and an External Research Fellow at the
ELTE CSS Institute for Legal Studies (Hungary). He is also a Polish delegate to the High
Council of the European University Institute and a member of the Advisory Legal Committee
to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland.

Prof. Gruszczynski holds an LL.M. from the Central European University in Budapest, a PhD
from the European University Institute in Florence, and a habilitation (a post-doctoral degree)
from the Institute of Legal Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He was appointed
full professor in 2025. In the past, he was a visiting scholar at the University of Michigan Law
School, the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law (Cambridge University), Pázmány Péter
Catholic University, and the University of Public Service (both in Hungary), as well as an
intern at the Legal Affairs Division of the World Trade Organization. Prof. Gruszczynski is a
Managing Editor of the Polish Yearbook of International Law and a board member of the
European Journal of Risk Regulation.

His research focuses on international economic law and international public health law. His
scientific output includes monographs published by Oxford University Press, Routledge, and
Edward Elgar, as well as numerous publications in leading international scientific journals.
His latest book is the second edition of the SPS commentary, co-authored with prof. Joanne
Scott and published by OUP.
